The third reason why God is under no obligation to anyone is that all things shall end with him. Paul ends Romans 11 with a thunderous doxology. “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen” (Rom. 11:36, ESV).To him are all things! To him shall all things end up! To him shall conclude all things.
To God shall all those foreknown, predestinated, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified by God, be with God for eternity. To God shall all those unbelieving end up in judgment. To God shall all creation be renewed someday soon.
God is the ultimate goal and end of all things.
Therefore, your ultimate goal in life is not to make money, or to live a comfortable life, or to enjoy life in this earth. Your ultimate goal in life is to know God and glorify Him forever.
God is the source of everything. God is the sustainer of everything. God is the end of everything. For from him and through him and to him are all things. The goal of God is the glory of God. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
Our purpose then as a church is to align ourselves with the character of God—with his love, kindness, mercy, and grace through Jesus Christ. Our purpose as a church is to promote the kindness of God for all sinners, so that people will know that all things come from God, through God, and shall end with God. Our purpose as a church is to lead people to say, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory” (Ps. 115:1, ESV), throughout all the ages. Amen!
That is why God created the earth, the stars, and the galaxies. That is why God put you here on this earth. That is why God sent His Son. That is why God saves sinners through Christ. So, that everyone and everything will glorify the radiance of the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.
To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
